Not long ago, I was taken aback while looking in the mirror... One day, I suddenly noticed the wrinkles around my mouth and the double chin standing out. It hit me that aging is really showing, so I grabbed my phone and started a marathon of searching. "Is there a procedure to fix this...?" I thought.
I found names like Ultherapy, InMode, and Shrink popping up, but with Ultherapy, my pride was still shouting, "I’m still young!" So I hesitated, plus the price isn't exactly cheap. On the other hand, Shrink felt suspiciously cheap... "Why is it so affordable? Am I missing something?" So I just couldn't bring myself to go for it.
Then I came across InMode. I hadn’t heard much about it, so it felt a bit unfamiliar, but I’m usually drawn to new things. "Okay, I’m in my 30s, let’s give it a shot," I thought, and decided to go with InMode. Luckily, my dermatology clinic was having an event, and I felt this strong urge to book an appointment right away.
On the day of the procedure, I was surprised to see kiosks at the clinic. Seeing the self-registration made me feel a bit of culture shock. Since I was just getting a follow-up, I touched a few buttons, and within 1-2 minutes, a staff member called my name. I’m quite anxious, so I had asked for anesthesia beforehand. I know it takes longer, but since it was my first procedure, my anxiety won out… I didn’t know if it would hurt, so I thought, "Let’s just go for the anesthesia."
After cleansing my face and applying the numbing cream, I was told the anesthesia was ready, so I moved to the laser room. Lying down, I was tense, and my first thought as the procedure started was, "Wait, what is the doctor doing…?" I was feeling a bit unsure, thinking, "Is this the right way? Is it just going to end like this?" It seemed like they were working hard, but I was so anxious that I could only focus on the sweat on my nose and upper lip… Before I knew it, it was over. I still can't tell if it was painless because of the anesthesia or if the procedure is naturally painless.
Afterwards, I moved to the care room where the staff took care of various post-treatment procedures and applied some masks. Before I realized it, it was all done. I felt like I had prepared myself for something big, but there was nothing dramatic about it, which left me a bit bewildered.
But here’s the interesting part… My face didn’t feel overly tight like someone who had undergone a facelift, but when I glanced in the mirror, the outline of my face seemed a bit slimmer. I wondered if it was just my imagination, but the double chin looked less pronounced than before. My skin also felt a bit firmer. I usually smile a lot, so I have more pronounced laugh lines compared to others my age. I always thought, "Should I get fillers for this?" But this time, it seemed like I had a hint of fillers in my laugh lines.
On the day of the procedure, I thought, "Eh, there’s not much difference," and moved on. But now, a few days later, as I write this and look in the mirror again, it seems… definitely not ineffective. Especially in the chin and cheek areas, it felt like they targeted those spots, but strangely, I find it most fascinating that my laugh lines are less noticeable. Why is that…?
I took some photos, but my laugh lines were too obvious, so I don’t want to post them directly; I need to protect my privacy a bit… Anyway, when I compare the before and after photos side by side, I really feel the difference. "Oh, this has changed a bit," I thought.
Another question popped into my mind… If InMode gives me this kind of result, what would happen if I did Ultherapy first and then InMode? I keep pondering this. I heard from the clinic that doing Ultherapy first would yield even better results, so I’m really curious.
Anyway, while looking at the photos from just before the procedure and four days later, I found myself saying "Oh..." as I write this.
