It’s already been six months since the surgery, and everyone seems surprised! I was warned that the tip of my nose would droop quickly, especially if I used a graft from a donor, but so far, my nose tip is holding up just fine.
When I had my second surgery, I also used a donor rib, and I really debated whether to go with my own rib or not. I ultimately chose the donor rib because I wanted a quicker recovery, but now that I’ve used a donor rib for the third time, people around me are saying things like, “You really should use your own rib this time; why again with the donor?” There’s a lot of talk about how using a donor rib for revision surgeries isn’t ideal and that it droops quickly, but honestly, my nose is still doing well. Every case is different.
At first, I didn’t have that “Wow, amazing!” feeling after the cheekbone surgery. Right after the surgery, I was like, “Huh...? Is this right?” But later, when I compared before-and-after photos, I noticed that not only my cheekbones but also the lines connecting to my temples seemed a lot neater. I thought I was the only one noticing it, but then people started saying I looked younger and that my features seemed much softer, which really boosted my satisfaction!
Dr. Huh did my nose, and Dr. Choi handled my cheekbones and the implants. Initially, I felt a bit awkward and stiff when making expressions with the implants, but now I hardly notice them in my daily life, whether it’s adjusting to them or them settling in properly. I can smile comfortably now, so that part has definitely improved!
