It’s been about 20 days, so I’m finally writing this.
I originally looked into it because my forehead felt high and the M-shaped hairline kept bothering me. I went to about three clinics for consultations.
At the first place, I listened to a long and detailed explanation. They showed everything step by step, including the procedure, process, and photos, so it was easy to understand. They also drew the hairline directly and checked it in detail, taking photos from multiple angles.
I did visit other places as well, but the doctor consultations were short and mostly handled by coordinators, so I felt the first place was more thorough and ended up leaning toward it.
The number of grafts and costs were different at each clinic. Some mentioned additional shaving fees, and I considered both the no-shave option and the design before making my decision.
Before the procedure, I visited the clinic for LED care. On the day, it took about six hours. They said it took longer because of the large number of grafts and the attention to direction.
There were two sedation periods during the procedure, and after that, it continued while I was awake. I could talk, drink water, and have small snacks. I didn’t really feel pain, but the long duration itself was tiring.
After it was done, they briefly cleaned the back area and I went home.
In the beginning, there was some redness in the transplanted area, so I managed it with what I was given. The next day, I went back for shampooing, and because of the graft amount, there was a bit of staining on the pillow side and a stinging sensation that lasted about a week.
For about two weeks, I washed my hair very carefully, almost like just placing the foam on it, which took more effort than expected. The back area also felt sensitive while washing, and since I had to use only cool air to dry, it took quite some time.
Daily life wasn’t too difficult, but due to redness and flakes, I didn’t go out much in the beginning.
After two weeks, I revisited the clinic for exfoliation and a check-up, and after cleaning, I could see some growth, which felt interesting.
I heard there’s a shedding phase in between, so I’m just observing for now.
