It’s been about 20 days, so I finally organized my thoughts and wrote this.
I first started looking into it because my forehead felt a bit high and the M-shaped hairline kept bothering me. I remember narrowing it down to about three places and going for consultations.
The first place I visited gave very detailed explanations. They showed everything step by step, from the method and process to photos, so it was easy to understand. The doctor also checked the hairline design very carefully, taking photos from different angles.
I did visit other places too, but the consultation styles were quite different, so it made comparisons easier. The number of grafts and costs were all different, and some even mentioned additional fees for shaving, which made me think more about it. I ended up deciding after considering both design and cost aspects.
The procedure itself took around six hours on the same day. Since the graft amount was quite large, it felt like that’s why it took longer. They said they carefully consider the direction of each graft, which adds to the time.
There were two moments where I was put under sedation, and after that, the procedure continued while I was awake. I was able to have small conversations and even drink water or have light snacks. I didn’t really feel pain, but the long duration itself was a bit tiring.
After it finished, they just cleaned up the back area briefly and I went home.
In the beginning, there was some redness in the transplanted area, so I managed it with what I was given. The next day when I went for shampooing, I noticed a bit of staining on the pillow side and some tingling that lasted about a week.
For about two weeks, I had to wash my hair very carefully, almost like just placing the foam on it, which was a bit inconvenient. The back area also felt sensitive while washing, and since I had to use only cool air for drying, it took quite a while.
Daily life itself wasn’t too uncomfortable, but because of the redness and flakes, I didn’t go out much at first.
After about two weeks, I went back for exfoliation and a check-up, and after cleaning, I could see some new growth, which felt interesting.
I heard there’s a shedding phase in between, so I’m just planning to wait and see.
