It's been exactly five months since I had double jaw surgery and contouring (High-3D cheekbones + bespoke V-line) done at Il Percento. The most noticeable change lately is how much wider I can open my mouth... I can fit two fingers in now, which is much better than a month ago, and eating is almost completely comfortable. I can eat just about anything.
Funny enough, around the four-month mark, I thought, “Oh, the swelling is all gone now!” But when I went to the clinic for a check-up, they said there’s still some swelling left. It’s not really noticeable to the eye, so my friends and people around me just say I look natural, but medically speaking, there’s still a bit there...
Dr. Im Jong-woo mentioned in the beginning that my mouth would open wider over time, but I was a bit skeptical back then. However, now that a few months have passed, I can feel it gradually opening more, which I’m really grateful for. It’s not like it suddenly gets better; it’s more like, “Oh? Has it always been like this?”—it seems to improve gradually, so the change takes a bit longer to notice.
Overall, I’m satisfied with my cheekbones, but there’s one thing that concerns me... There’s a bit of fullness in the cheek area near my mouth and nasolabial folds. I can’t tell if it’s due to swelling or sagging, but it feels a bit plump there. If it stays like this after some time, I might need to consider lifting options, though for now, I’m just keeping an eye on it.
Having had a protruding jaw, I used to be really self-conscious about my profile, but now that my mouth is much more aligned, I love how I look from the side. My overall face shape feels much slimmer and more refined than before, so I personally think that choosing to do both double jaw surgery and contouring was a great decision.
