Even though it's a bit of a distance going back and forth from the countryside, I really think it was a great decision to come here. Today marks exactly one week since my surgery, and I just got back from the hospital. I finally took off the upper band and got all the stitches removed… Oh, taking that off makes me feel like a whole new person.
It's funny because the doctor kept checking my chest and touched it about three times, saying it feels surprisingly soft for just a week post-surgery and that everything went really well. It's still early to say much since it's only been a week, but hearing that from him made me feel a bit proud.
As for the pain... I honestly had very little. From the second day post-surgery, I had waterproof tape on and was able to shower, and by the fifth day, I even washed myself! I was surprised I could do that, but I felt fine… After the care I received, I got up on my own and even had a nurse ask if I was in pain. Hearing that made me realize, “Wow, I really am doing well.”
At home, I'm still taking care of my two kids (7 years old and 3 years old) just like usual. That was my biggest worry, but thankfully, it hasn’t been too much of a struggle. There's still a lot to watch for and monitor in the coming days, but for now, I feel like I'm recovering quickly, and that’s the best part. I’ll keep up with the care diligently ❤️
