The first thing I did after getting shoulder filler was... I went shopping for clothes. LOL. The day after the procedure, I went to Zara and tried on a bunch of different clothes. I used to think, "Why did the same clothes look so sloppy?" They now fit a little better. That's when I thought, "Wow, I did a great job!" Since then, I've felt like I'll be buying more clothes for a while, so my wallet is on the edge. LOL. I'm on the tall side, but my shoulders are narrow, so my upper body proportions are a bit off. I'm someone who always edits my shoulder line in photos... I used to habitually just stretch my shoulders for Instagram posts, thinking, "I can just keep doing that." I didn't even know shoulder fillers existed. But one day, I was reading reviews of shoulder fillers and was shocked. The exact same line I always used to adjust with the app was back there. That must have been something I was most concerned about, because people around me told me, "You should really get a consultation." After much deliberation, I decided to give it a try. I went back to the same clinic where I'd previously gotten a mini-contouring lift. First, during my consultation with the director, he checked everything from my shoulder to my collarbone. He examined me in detail and explained everything thoroughly, which put me at ease. Then, Director Jeong Yeong-chun explained everything in detail, including my shoulder line, the direction of correction, and the amount I needed. He also examined my trapezius botulinum toxin. He personally observed where my shoulders were tense and explained the procedure based on that. The filler was recommended at 30cc and the botulinum toxin was 100 units. Initially, he suggested trying 20cc and retouching, but since I was already doing it, I decided to go with 30cc. Then, when I showed him a photo of Jenny's shoulder, he decided to adjust it to 37cc. Before the procedure, he paid close attention to the line connecting my upper arm to my shoulder. I have some protruding skin on my upper arm, and he took that into account to design it so it blends naturally with my shoulder. I really liked that. The procedure was done under local anesthesia, with me sitting down and looking in the mirror. The filler was injected and the shape was constantly adjusted, so it felt like getting my hair done at a salon and checking the style right away. It was both novel and comforting. I had told the nurse in advance that I had low blood sugar and blood pressure, so I could faint if I was nervous. The nurse kept checking my condition and was very attentive, which made me feel a bit more at ease. My biggest worry was, "How much will it hurt?", but it was actually less painful than I expected. Maybe it's because the filler contains anesthetic, but I only felt a slight sting when I first received the local anesthesia. After that, it wasn't so painful that I was on edge until all 37cc were injected. The doctor also kept telling me, "Let me know if it hurts," which helped me relax a bit. The Botox was administered based on the areas I needed to work hard on, but I felt almost no pain in the trapezius muscle. In case you're wondering about the pain, here's a comparison based on what I've had in the past: Filler: Filler-dissolving injection (hyalase) > Nasolabial fold filler > Chin > Nose bridge = Shoulder filler. I remember it really hurting when I pressed down on my nasolabial fold and chin to shape them, but I can't really remember a moment where I went "ugh" like that with my shoulder. Botox: Nose tip > Forehead > Salivary gland > Trapezius > Glabella. I felt the most pain with forehead Botox, and the trapezius area was much more comfortable compared to that. I was a little anxious because I had to drive a long distance on the day of the procedure, but I didn't have any major issues even after driving for about 5 hours. I did feel a mild muscle pain for 2-3 days afterward. The swelling lasted for about 2 days, and my shoulder line looked slightly uneven, so I asked about it. They said it would smooth out over time, so I waited. Actually, by the fourth day, it was much smoother, and now it's the sixth day since the procedure, and the noticeable bumps are gone. I've always wanted square shoulders, so I've been stretching diligently and exercising, but I found my limits, perhaps due to my shoulder blades and body type. So, at one point, I was just giving up. But after getting shoulder filler, I feel like I've gotten rid of a complex I've had for a long time, and that's the biggest thing. Furthermore, shoulders aren't the first thing people notice, like the eyes and nose, so sometimes people don't sympathize with the concerns I have. That's why I felt like I was the only one worrying about them, but I feel relieved that I've been able to alleviate some of that. They say the effects of botox for the trapezius muscle take two to three weeks to become noticeable, so I'm waiting. Anyway, I've written down everything I can remember, in case you're curious about the details. I'm leaving this as a reference for anyone who, like me, has been constantly tinkering with retouching apps because of their shoulders.
