Earlier this year, I had triple contouring surgery. My face wasn’t extremely angular in real life, but in photos it always looked pentagonal, which stressed me out for a long time before I finally decided to go through with it.
I knew contour surgery can dramatically shave the bone, but I worried about health issues and sagging later on. So I set two clear rules: safety first, and a natural aesthetic. I visited about four or five clinics, and the surgeon I chose explained everything in the most detail and seemed confident in a reassuring way. The fact that he’s an oral and maxillofacial specialist also mattered to me.
Now that the swelling is gone and there’s no pain, I honestly feel glad I did it. During early recovery, I kept saying I’d never do surgery again because it hurt so much—but now I catch myself thinking otherwise sometimes. The lines are much softer, and I’ve been hearing that I look better.
There aren’t any major side effects. I did notice some fine wrinkles that weren’t there before, which I’m keeping an eye on as part of recovery, and one side of my face still feels slightly tingly at times. Still, there are no nerve-related issues, so that’s a relief.
Recovery wasn’t easy, and ongoing care is necessary, but if facial contour was a complex, I personally feel it was worth it.
