I think it was when I was in the second year of middle school... I was in the thick of wearing my school uniform and had a partial incision with a lateral canthoplasty done once. At the time, I was pretty satisfied, but time really does fly... At some point, I looked in the mirror and felt like my left eye almost looked droopy, and the right side seemed to have a blurred line? It had that vibe of being weak and saggy... If I squinted, it looked fine, but when I relaxed, it appeared thick and dull, like a sausage, which was kind of funny but also really stressful.
Daily life wasn't super uncomfortable, but especially when I looked at photos taken from the side, my uneven eyes became more pronounced, and I thought, "I need to do something about this." I couldn't just let it go as the difference was becoming more noticeable, so I eventually decided to go for a revision surgery.
When searching for a clinic, I focused on the background of the doctors and whether they had experience with revision cases. I spent a lot of time looking for reviews and information, and I finally chose Dr. Kim Jin-hyung from Sugar Plastic Surgery. Originally, I only intended to have a clean double eyelid revision, but during the consultation, I thought, "Since I'm at it, why not make my eyes a bit bigger and clearer?" So I decided to go ahead with the lateral canthoplasty as well.
Looking back now, I think doing the lateral canthoplasty was a pretty good decision... My eyes definitely look sharper, and my overall impression seems more refined. It's not that blurry look anymore, so I feel good every time I look in the mirror. I still have a bit of swelling, though, and I hope it goes down soon...
